A lot has happened since my last post. Turned 40, started my summer semester of school. Nothing exciting. Does anyone wonder why or how our society evolved into one where no one wants to get involved? Or people just don’t care about what is happening around them? The reason I ask this is because I live in a condo building with 92 units and it’s a bloody mess. Everything from our maintenance person won’t clean (even though it’s his job), to people that live here and their guests vandalizing the building, and major issues with plumbing. When our building has its annual election for board members, no one runs so the same lousy board that won’t do anything to fix things gets put in place again. Some would say to me why don’t you be a board member? I did that for 2 years and actively tried to make things better, but was shot down over and over again by the same lousy board members. This isn’t the only example I see almost daily where people don’t care or don’t want to get involved.
It happens when you go to the mall and the salespeople in the stores see you but won’t offer to help. They’re too busy with the conversation that all of them are having with each other. Management wonders why sales are down.
