Who I am
I have been working since I was 13 in a variety of different jobs and occupations. My first professional job was when I was 19 and had finished my first year of college at Kansas State University in Manhattan, KS. Like a lot of kids, I didn’t do so well.
It wasn’t until I was 25 that I went back to school. I finished my BA 6 years later in 1999. I went back because I realized I wouldn’t be able to get very far in life without a college education. Going back to school was one of the best decisions I ever made. Just prior to finishing my coursework, I moved from being a data entry clerk into technology. I’ve been in technology since 1998.
Since 1998 I’ve found myself unemployed a couple of times; once for personal reasons and more recently due to being laid off. I was laid off from a great job in November 2007, and decided it was time to change professions. Technology is a hard field to be in these days. Not stable anywhere.
As of August 2009, I’ve transitioned into being a librarian, technical writer and researcher.
