Summary of MLIS Student Projects and Experience
• Completed a Practicum in the YMCA of the USA’s Knowledge Management Center to assist with the development of their corporate taxonomy and accompanying metadata.
• Answered 360 in-depth reference questions in the social sciences using text and online searching principles and strategies. In-house library databases and print materials were used, as well as local, state and federal government print and online sources.
• Located and evaluated various information sources (print and online) for quality and authority.
• Conducted a research study examining personality types of students enrolled in the MLIS program at Dominican University. Compiled and presented findings in a formal report, poster session and oral presentation.
• Created and delivered a presentation on usability testing and its application in libraries.
• Designed and taught four information literacy instruction sessions.
